International community's role is particularly important in maintaining the territorial integrity of Georgia and bring down the tension in the country", said the Prime Minister.
According to the Prime Minister, the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia has gained ever larger importance in the context of the latest developments in Ukraine. The Prime Minister thanked the mission for their hard work and wished all the success in their further efforts.
The EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia is an unarmed civilian mission, which has helped to stabilize the situation in Georgia since the war between Georgia and Russia in 2008.
Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius visited the Heroes Memorial to lay a wreath in tribute to the dead.
