The establishment of the Consulate General Los Angeles will contribute to the development of economic, trade and cultural relations with one of the economic and cultural centres of the United States, will enable the consular services in the West coast to be provided in a more efficient way and will help to promote cooperation with the local Lithuanian community.
Los Angeles is a third city in the world after New York and Hong Kong according to the number of the Consulate General established therein – more than 60 Consulates General function in the city. The majority of the EU member states have established their consulates on the Western coast of the USA.
According to the unofficial data, more than 10 thousand Lithuanian citizens and Americans of Lithuanian origin live in Los Angeles alone. The establishment of the Consulate General will enable consular services to be provided in a more efficient way not only to the people residing in the State of California but also to those in the neighbouring states.
The Consulate General in Los Angeles will provide services to the individuals residing in the States of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Alaska and Hawaii.
