Commentators emphasized that EAPL was seen as an honestly acting party in the coalition and as a political organization that set high working standards. EAPL enjoyed the image of a solid party that above all was looking after the interests of the voters. In the ruling coalition EAPL was a main actor taking care of social affairs and concerned for more efficient use of government money. Thanks to the efforts and law amendments submitted by EAPL funding of local roads in Lithuania increased by 50 percent. This increase is very important for every citizen of our country.
Due to EAPL and Labour Party actions and principled position, the ruling coalition undertook the decision to compensate reduced pensions. Today the issue of pension's compensation is again under question as Social Democrats party is considering the possibility to withdraw from the promises made. Meanwhile, voters feel the lack of strong defenders (which EAPL is) of their affairs in the coalition.
Currently, the ruling coalition is formed from 80 members from three parties: the Social Democrats Party, the Labour Party and the 'Order and Justice' party. Decline in confidence in the Government has been reported for the first time since the start of a coalition in December 2012.
