A. Anušauskas to attend Baltic Defence Ministerial in Latvia

On January 18-19 Riga, capital of Latvia, will host a Baltic Defence Ministerial meeting. Baltic Defence Ministers Arvydas Anušauskas, Andris Sprūds (Latvia) and Hanno Pevkur (Estonia) will discuss status of joint Baltic projects, preparations for the NATO Summit in Washington and support to Ukraine. At the meeting Lithuania will officially take over the chairmanship of the Baltic security and defence cooperation for 2024 from Latvia. The Baltic cooperation peaks in the areas of the NATO Air Policing Mission, Navy, joint exercises and officer training at the Baltic Defence College in the recent years. The countries also synchronize capability planning, coordinate joint procurement, hold joint exercise, training events, seminars, and also conduct cooperation between individual services.
