“We are delighted that the war did not end the project. The Brigade has adapted to the new reality and continues training the units to meet NATO standards, thus facilitating the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine,” says A. Anušauskas.
At the request of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the LITPOLUKRBRIG launched the Operation United for Peace to assist the 11th Division of Poland in training the Ukrainian military personnel, coordinate the logistics of assistance to Ukraine, conduct operational monitoring of the situation in Ukraine and coordinate border crossing.
Five Lithuanian officers assigned to the brigade headquarters contribute in this effort.
The trilateral Lithuania-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade was established by signing the foundation treaty in Warsaw in 2014. It comprises an international headquarters staff, battalions assigned by Lithuania, Ukraine and Poland, as well as specialized units.
