Gitanas Nausėda stressed that the implementation of the principles of forward defense, the increase of defense budgets of Alliance’s member countries and the assistance to Ukraine in terms of transatlantic integration are the key priorities of the NATO Summit scheduled for 11-12 July in Vilnius.
The President welcomed the decision of the Senate of the Czech Republic to adopt a resolution calling for a clear path for Ukraine towards NATO.
“I hope that in Vilnius we will be able to agree on the steps that both Ukraine and NATO will need to take in order for Ukraine to become a member of NATO when the war ends,” President Gitanas Nausėda spoke.
