The state of emergency is designed to manage threats, and its legal regime allows for the implementation of the necessary solutions, such as tighter control over citizens of the Russian Federation and the push-back of illegal migrants.
It will not cause any inconvenience to the country’s inhabitants or to those entering the country.
It will remain in force throughout the entire section of the Lithuanian state border with Belarus and the border section with the Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation as well as at border control posts located outside of the border section territory.
The intention is to maintain the following measures applied so far:
- enhanced border surveillance and border checks;
- stricter visa regime, namely the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus has been suspended at the
- visa issuing offices of the Republic of Lithuania abroad, except in the cases where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acts as an intermediary.
