The President and the Prime Minister discussed strengthening regional security and energy prices, as well as further support for Ukraine and the steps needed to stop the Russian aggression.
“Despite sanctions from the international community and losses on the battlefield, Russia continues to fight in Ukraine, including attacks on critical infrastructure and civilians. We must continue to provide economic, financial, and military assistance to Ukraine, as well as to introduce other measures, including additional sanctions, to make it as difficult as possible for the aggressor to continue this bloody war,” the President underlined.
According to Gitanas Nausėda, strengthening NATO’s eastern flank remains a priority for Lithuania and Poland.
“We need to strengthen practical defense cooperation between our countries, including the possibility of taking joint decisions in the areas of coastal and air defense,” the President pointed out.
On energy prices, the President stressed the need to find EU and national solutions not only to curb them, but also to come up with forms of support for citizens and businesses.
