‘The fact that our cities have been conferred with the title of European Capital of Culture, is more than an honourable assessment, it is an opportunity for multiple valuable experience, inspiring friendships, and cultural exchange. And when the title goes to other deserving European cities next year, I have no doubts that the cultural ties between Lithuania and Luxembourg will continue to live, which is what matters most,’ said Prime Minister Šimonytė.
As part of his official visit to Lithuania, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg has had an introduction to the history and culture of the Kaunas city from Mount Aleksotas, visit to Jenny Kagan’s exhibition, Out of Darkness, and Yoko Ono’s installation, Ex It.
The Prime Ministers have also visited one of the most outstanding examples of mature Baroque architecture in the history of European art - the Pažaislis Monastery.
