"It is with much pleasure that I recall our meeting this past September at the Royal Palace in Brussels. I am delighted we had a good opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and cultural cooperation between Lithuania and Belgium as well as issues relating to Europe's future and important to both our nations which we had successfully addressed - with Belgium's support - during the Lithuanian Presidency of the European Union," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė underlined that Belgium's consistent commitment and contribution to the security of the Baltic States and the entire region was highly appreciated by the people of Lithuania.
"I firmly believe that today's dialogue between Lithuania and Belgium, based on perfect mutual understanding, serves as a strong foundation for even closer interaction and collaborative work on joint projects," the President wrote.
According to the President, only together European nations will overcome the emerging political and economic challenges and will achieve much not only for their countries, but also for a unified, secure and economically prosperous Europe.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the people of Belgium continued health and happiness as well as prosperity and well-being to their country.
