This data is from the month of June. In May it was 3,2 percent. This means that the popularity of the party increased by approximately 20% within just one month.
It should be stressed that real support for the party is almost three times higher when comparing to the results of the polls and amounts to about 10%.
We would like to remind, that the support for the EAPL candidate Valdemar Tomaševski in the recent presidential elections was 8,4% and in the elections to the European Parliament the EAPL got 8,1% while the polls carried out by 'Sprinter tyrimai' indicated only about 3% at the same time.
Usually the real EAPL support and the results of polls are divergent and vary almost three times. The actual popularity of the party is therefore almost three times greater than that published by public opinion research companies.
The case of the Lithuanian Social Democratic party can be also provided as an example of the inaccuracy of these studies. Yet in May polls indicated support of 24,6% for the social democrats while they got only 17,3% of votes in the elections to the European Parliament. According to figures released today the Social Democratic party would get 22,9% of votes (24,6% in May).
