Unfortunately, as a result of the emergency situation announced in Latvia today due to COVID-19, the Latvian Prime Minister has been unable to attend as planned.
During the informal programme, the Lithuanian and Estonian Prime Ministers have visited Pažaislis Monastery, toured Kaunas Old Town, and visited the office of the European Capital of Culture 2022 to hear about the programme of Kaunas, European Capital of Culture 2022. The Prime Ministers have also had a tour at the Art Deco Museum.
During the informal meeting, the Prime Ministers have discussed the topical issues and further strengthening of the cooperation between the Baltic states.
The Prime Ministers have exchanged views on the vaccination and management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Heads of Government have discussed the threats posed by the irregular migration caused by the regime of Belarus.
The Prime Ministers of Lithuania and Estonia have discussed as to how to coordinate the country positions on the international agenda issues even more efficiently, and how to strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, and elsewhere.
A formal meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Baltic Council of Ministers is scheduled for December.
