At the meeting with Permanent State Secretaries Gerd Hoofe and Benedikt Zimmer in Berlin last week V. Semeška thanked them for their personal contribution to strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation of Lithuania and Germany. Vice Minister also visited the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) factory in Munich which makes the Vilkas Infantry Fighting Vehicles bought by the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Vice Minister discussed regional security with Ambassador M. Sonn and once again thanked Germany for the leadership in the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group and investments in Lithuania’s military infrastructure. V. Semeška also brought up the Lithuanian proposal to launch a EU military training mission in Ukraine during the meeting.
