"The period of your diplomatic service in Vilnius was exceptionally dynamic and active: for the first time, we took the helm of the Council of the European Union, we chaired the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and Lithuania was elected a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council", said the Prime Minister, and underlined that President of Germany Joachim Gauck, Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, as well as members of the German Government and the Bundestag visited Lithuania during the term of Ambassador Mülmenstädt in Vilnius.
Prime Minister Butkevičius thanked the Ambassador for his contribution in the organisation of various bilateral meetings, conferences, and other events in the fields of economy, science, culture, regional relations, and youth exchange, and wished the Ambassador success.
