Minister pointed out at the meeting the importance of modernising and strengthening the Lithuanian Armed Forces, the resilience and readiness of public institutions to respond to security threats, and the involvement of the private sector and the public in strengthening national security.
Minister A. Anušauskas also praised the intense cooperation and military interaction with NATO and NATO allies, EU member states, development of EU projects, continue active Lithuania’s participation in the international NATO, U.S., EU and UN-led missions and operations, and expressed lasting support to Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. The Defence Attachés accredited to Lithuania were also debriefed on the Lithuanian defence budget by the Finance and Budget Department staff.
The video teleconference was attended by representatives of 25 states from their official residencies in Vilnius, Warsaw, Tallinn, and Riga.
