The meeting will be held upon the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius. The participants will also exchange their views on the European Union's policies, developments in the Eastern neighborhood, security in the region and energy issues.
On the same day, they will take part in a video conference of the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers to discuss transatlantic relations and a strategic dialogue with the United States. The U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and heads of diplomacy of the EU member states will exchange their views on the most important geopolitical issues, including responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and disinformation, relations with China and Russia, situations in Syria, Libya, and Ukraine, as well as the Middle East peace process.
A bilateral meeting between L. Linkevičius and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz is scheduled to take place prior to the meeting of the four Foreign Ministers. The interlocutors will discuss the renewal of bilateral meetings, the commemoration of our shared history, security and energy issues.
On the Day of Mourning and Hope, the Foreign Ministers L. Linkevičius, J. Czaputowicz, Urmas Reinsalu, and Edgars Rinkēvičs will lay flowers at the monument commemorating the victims of the Soviet occupation.
