The support for the present President of Lithuania decreased by 2,4 % - from 43,3% to 40,9% - in comparison to the data from February 2014.The newest data show that the second round of presidential elections is inevitable.
The presidential candidate Zigmantas Balčytis is on the second place with the support of 10,3%.
The poll shows, that 3,4% of voters would vote for the EAPL candidate Valdemar Tomaševski. It is a great increase in comparison to the previous electoral polls, when the support for the EAPL leader was about 2%.
EAPL and its candidates often have reduced support in polls. This is due to the specific testing in the regions and particular attitude of people and entities deputing the conduction of polls.
According to the poll, the support of Valdemar Tomaševski was about 0,5%-1,5% during last presidential elections in 2009. But in fact about 5% of voters voted for the EAPL leader. This trend leads to the conclusion that at present the actual support for the EAPL candidate Valdemar Tomaševski is much higher and there are all the chances to get to the second round of elections.
By the way, it is also confirmed by the poll conducted by the influential lithuanian website alfa.lt, where the candidate Valdemar Tomaševski currently enjoys the support of 12% which puts him on a high third position.
