EU's long-term budget
MEPs want to support jobs and growth by maintaining funding in key areas such as research, infrastructure, the fight against youth unemployment, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and the popular Erasmus+ programme in the EU’s next long-term budget for 2021-2027. On Monday the budget committee will vote on the interim report setting on Parliament's priorities for the long-term budget, also referred to as the multiannual financial framework.
EU-Japan trade agreement
Also on Monday, the international trade committee will vote on the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and Japan. This deal is the biggest trade agreement the EU has ever negotiated and will create a trade zone of more than 600 million people. It will enter into force in 2019 once the Parliament and the Council have approved it.
Crowdfunding services
On Monday, the economic affairs committee will vote on new rules to enable crowdfunding platforms to easily provide their services across the EU and to improve access for small investors and businesses, particularly start-ups, looking for alternative ways to finance their projects.
