On Wednesday 3 October, MEPs vote on plans tofurther reduce cars' CO2 emissions by setting targets that are more ambitious. Parliament’s environment committee suggests that CO2 car emissions should be reduced by 45% by 2030. The new rules would also demand that 40% of new cars sold from 2030 are electric and hybrid. The debate is on Tuesday.
More European content on streaming platforms
An update of the rules on audiovisual media services would impose a 30% quota of European content on online platforms such as Netflix and also ensure children are better protected against harmful content. The vote is on Tuesday.
