The Prime Minister said he believed in the success of this investment and the contribution of the new plant in creating a greater added value for Lithuanian wood products. According to the Prime Minister, this construction is of great relevance for Akmenė and Lithuania as a whole, as the new factory will increase the competitiveness of the country, and it also serves a good example for other regions of Lithuania.
‘I am very pleased that strong winds of change are blowing in our country. This day is very important for Lithuania, the company and Akmenė. This production investment will bring a high added value to the Lithuanian wood industry’, said Saulius Skvernelis.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of this investment as being of Lithuanian origin. We often speak of the need to support foreign investors, but local businesses and their investments call for no less attention from the state. One euro invested in the region brings a few euros in added value.
‘We often forget the Lithuanian investor focusing instead on foreign investors. In this case we see a targeted Lithuanian investment coming into the region. I am pleased to see the industrial potential growing, and the goal and the task of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania is to create high quality products. We will do our best to facilitate to the maximum extent possible the operation of Lithuanian capital in the country,’ said Saulius Skvernelis.
