Deividas Matulionis has thanked Mr Krmelj for his work and his personal contribution to the development of bilateral co-operation. The Chancellor has underlined Slovenia’s importance as a reliable ally in both the EU and NATO and that the countries throughout almost 27 years of diplomatic relations have been developing friendly bilateral cooperation, based on partnership and common values.
“I am very glad that the relations between our countries have intensified over the recent years - including the visits of both our Presidents and other high officials. We should seek to further enhance our relations and bring them to the higher level in all areas“, said the First Deputy Chancellor.
The economies of both countries have relatively similar size and potential, there is a good base for mutually beneficial business cooperation. Niches to intensify the economic relations: food production, electronics industry, textile industry, ICT and transportation services.
Slovenian Ambassador R. Krmelj handed letters of credence to the President of Lithuania on November 23, 2015.
Lithuania and Slovenia established diplomatic relations on November 22, 1991.
