The law is the key legal act that is prerequisite for the introduction of the euro in Lithuania. The adoption of the law and secondary legal acts will form a legal basis for the introduction of the euro. The euro will strengthen Lithuania's image as an investment-friendly and reliable state, will have a favourable effect on business conditions and development, and this, in its turn, will have a positive influence on the welfare of every citizen.
The draft law has also been submitted to the European Central Bank, whose comments will be examined during the reading of the draft law in the Seimas.
