The President underscored that it was paramount for Moldova to continue fighting against corruption, to aim for the support of the European Union provided for reforms and Moldova’s economy to be more visible and for the reforms to produce concrete results.
Dalia Grybauskaitė reaffirmed the continuation of support for the implementation of the key reforms and for manifold assistance to Moldova provided by Lithuania’s experts in different fields. Strategic communication and fight against hostile propaganda are the areas of potential cooperation between the two countries.
The new Ambassador has a diploma in law. He began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova in 1998 and served in different positions. Serghei Mihov has served as the Deputy to the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe. In 2016, he was appointed the Head of Division of the Global Affairs and Human Rights Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador resides in Vilnius.
