There can be no condoning of any attacks against national or state symbols. We are convinced that the incident will not affect Polish-Lithuanian relations, which we want to develop in a spirit of friendship and in keeping with the centuries-old tradition of coexistence and cooperation between our nations.
We take this opportunity to extend our best Christmas and New Year greetings to the authorities and people of Lithuania. We wish to warmly congratulate the Republic of Lithuania on its successful presidency of the European Union, which will come to an end on 31 December 2013.
