Foreign Minister Linkevičius congratulates his newly appointed German counterpart

On 14 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas on his appointment as the head of diplomacy. In his letter, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister highlighted the partnership between the two countries, as well as cooperation at the European level and within NATO. “The contribution of the German Bundeswehr and Germany to strengthening the stability and security of NATO’s eastern border is extremely important for us. In addition, it sets an excellent example of close cooperation between our countries and that of mutual solidarity,” Lithuania’s Foreign Minister wrote. Linkevičius also invited Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to attend a meeting of the Baltic-German Foreign Ministers in Lithuania.
