At a meeting of Parliament’s president and political group leaders this Wednesday, a draft resolution will be finalised on the framework of the future relationship between the European Union and the UK. Following the meeting, President Antonio Tajani and Guy Verhofstadt, Parliament’s Brexit coordinator, hold a press conference at 17.30 CET. The draft resolution will be put to a vote at next week’s plenary session.
For International Women's Day 2018 Parliament is stressing the importance of the role played by women in media and ICT. To mark the occasion, Parliament’s gender equality committee is organising an inter-parliamentary meeting on Thursday. The situation of migrants in detention centres in Libya and EU financial support to the Libyan authorities are the subject of a joint meeting on Monday of the civil liberties and foreign affairs committees and Parliament’s delegation for relations with the Maghreb.
A delegation of MEPs travel to Sierra Leone this week to observe presidential, parliamentary and municipal elections taking place on Wednesday.
