"I am very pleased that as Lithuania presides over the Council of the European Union, together we are successfully developing key projects in energy, economic growth, neighborhood policies, and other areas of importance to our nations, the region and the people of Europe," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
The President pointed out that the effective delivery of joint schemes and initiatives would not only contribute to ensuring security and welfare in the two countries and across the region, but would also bring the people of Lithuania and Finland closer together.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the President of Finland great health and happiness as well as continued well-being and prosperity to his country.
