"Over the past several decades, Lithuania and Romania have developed a dynamic relationship based on mutual understanding and shared interests. I am glad that working together in NATO and the European Union - presided over by Lithuania this half year - we address and successfully deal with security, energy and other important issues of concern, and contribute in this way to ensuring the well-being of all people in Europe," the President wrote on her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the President of Romania continued health and happiness, as well as concord and well-being to his country.
