A European Commission proposal setting new limits for the use of the endocrine disruptor bisphenol A (BPA) in varnishes and coatings coming into contact with food will be voted in the environment and public health committee on Thursday. In 2016, Parliament called for a ban on BPA in all materials that come into contact with food.
Political groups will meet this week to prepare their positions for the upcoming plenary session. Among the items on the Strasbourg agenda next week are Bulgaria’s priorities for its six months at the helm of the council of ministers and the conclusions of the December summit, with a special focus on Brexit. MEPs will also vote on the new clean energy package.
