One of the highest Lithuanian state decorations has been conferred on the Prime Minister of Luxembourg and former longtime President of the Eurogroup for personal merits to the development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Luxembourg and for active contribution to the promotion of cooperation between the two nations. Strong support of Luxembourg and of the Prime Minister personally to Lithuania's integration into the European Union and NATO was very significant.
The head of Luxembourg government has arrived in Lithuania to participate in the Vilnius Summit. The summit is the biggest and most important event of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council which expects highest-level delegations from the 28 EU member states and Eastern Partnership countries.
