This week MEPs will be working in their constituencies or in Parliamentary delegations.
Migration
A delegation from the civil liberties committee is in Tunisia from Monday to Thusday to discuss the country's cooperation with the EU on migration and border controls, including search and rescue, visa liberalisation and readmission agreements. They will also discuss the current situation in Libya, particularly detention centres and human rights.
Cooperation with Latin America
MEPs meet their counterparts from Latin America during the 10th plenary session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat) taking place in El Salvador from Monday to Thursday. They will discuss issues such as the future of the multilateral trade system, the fight against organised crime and terrorism, as well as food price volatility.
Bulgaria
The transport committee is in Bulgaria from Monday to Wednesday to discuss transport policy initiatives and infrastructure development with the minister of transport, national MPs and other stakeholders. In addition the culture committee is in Veliko Tarnovo from Monday to Wednesday to discuss ways to improve and modernise the school and higher education sectors with representatives of Bulgarian universities and secondary schools.
Cyprus
From Wednesday to Friday the petitions committee is in Cyprus to meet citizens and authorities following a series of petitions by local residents concerning environmental and health concerns due to the creation of an industrial port in Larnaca.
France
Parliament President Antonio Tajani visits France on Thursday and Friday, where he will meet President Emmanuel Macron, Prime-Minister Édouard Philippe and National Assembly President François de Rugy.
Hungary
The budgetary control committee visits Hungary from Monday to Wednesday to visit EU-funded projects and meet their national counterparts as well as representatives from the State Audit Office and civil society organisations. The budgetary control committee regularly undertakes fact-finding missions in and outside the EU.
Ireland
Parliament's Brexit coordinator Guy Verhofstadt visits Belfast and Dublin on Wednesday and Thursday. He will meet Northern Ireland's political leaders before travelling to Dublin to meet the Taoiseach and address a number of committees of the Irish parliament. The issue of the Irish border is one of the EU's three priorities for the Brexit negotiations.
Poland
The environment committee is in Poland from Monday to Wednesday to meet Environment Minister Jan Szyszko and representatives from civil society, industry and trade unions to discuss the refusal of the Polish authorities to halt the logging in Białowieża forest following the EU's court decision on 28 July to do so.
Romania
A delegation from the regional development committee is in Romania from Monday to Wednesday to discuss the impact of the EU's regional development policy with local, regional and national authorities and the beneficiaries of EU funds.
Slovenia and Croatia
The employment committee is in Slovenia and Croatia from Tuesday to Thursday to investigate if the national policies related to the Youth Employment Initiative have played a role in the labour market. The visit is made in the context of a report on the implementation of the Youth Employment Initiative, which the committee will vote on later this year.
Spain
The employment committee is in Madrid from Wednesday to Friday to discuss various employment issues with stakeholders.
