“I am pleased to host this historic visit on the year of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Egypt. Our aim is to continue the active development of the political and economic relations and the political dialogue between Egypt and the European Union”, said Saulius Skvernelis.
He welcomed the growing trade between the two countries noting, however, the huge untapped potential. The Head of Government noted Lithuania’s interest in supplying to Egypt agricultural produce, IC and renewable energy technologies. “I see ample opportunities for closer cooperation in the fields of culture, higher education and studies”, said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister pointed out Lithuania’s interest in joint efforts to ensure international peace and security, while commending Egypt’s efforts and role in the fight against terrorism.
