The signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement is to be one of the most significant outcomes of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius. The Ministers will also discuss the text of the joint declaration of the Vilnius Summit.
The Council will debate developments in the southern neighbourhood, focusing on Syria, its humanitarian crisis and political situation. The binding obligation to destroy Syria's chemical weapons, set out in the resolution of the UN Security Council, and preparations for the Geneva II peace conference will also be discussed.
The Council will review the current political situation in Egypt and Myanmar/Burma. Ministers will also have a working lunch with Burma's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
