The Presidents will discuss bilateral relations between Lithuania and Palestine, Palestine's cooperation with the European Union, the Middle East peace process and the latest developments in the region.
Lithuania and the European Union support the Middle East peace process and the renewed Israeli-Palestinian talks. The stability in the whole region depends on successful advancement of negotiations, Dalia Grybauskaitė said.
According to the President, Lithuania also backs democratic processes and the development of civil society in Palestine and contributes to carrying out various education projects, including in a non-governmental sector.
Lithuania participates in the development cooperation programmes of the European Union and the United Nations providing financial support for addressing the issues of Palestinian refugees and humanitarian assistance.
