"The Republic of Cyprus stands as an important partner of Lithuania in addressing issues topical to the whole of Europe. I firmly believe that as Lithuania holds the Presidency of the EU council this half year, our two countries will continue their close cooperation towards an open, credible and economically strong Europe which ensures the security and well-being of all Europeans," the President wrote in her message of congratulations.
Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the Cypriot President continued success as he worked for the good of his nation, and she wished his country and its people security, well-being and prosperity.
