The representatives presented their own transformation plan for Ukraine and announced their intentions to present it also in other EU member states, and institutions in Brussels with an aim to gather international support for an idea of national dialogue in Ukraine. Strong dialogue between civil society and government in Ukraine would be important for the future of modern Ukraine and successful implementation of reforms.
The National Forum “Transformation of Ukraine” was established in 2015. It aims to initiate a broad dialogue among civil society, the government, business and the church on the future and modernisation of Ukraine, to consolidate a broad government, business and society coalition to lead reform. The Supervisory Board of the National Forum includes Heads of Ukraine’s Orthodox Church and Greek Catholic Church, Ministers, representatives of non-governmental organizations and foreign countries, including Jan Tombinski, former Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine. The Forum has held several high-level discussions with the Ukrainian and foreign representatives, civil society leaders. The Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine also actively contributes to the Forum.
While in Lithuania, the representatives of the Forum will meet with representatives from the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania and Ministries of Lithuania. Together with Ukrainian volunteer soldiers they will hand the Ukrainian combat flag over to the President of Lithuania.
