“Our fossil fuel resources are limited and we depend on imported energy, so we must pay more attention to the development of a local renewable energy industry. Today, Germany is becoming a world leader in many areas, including renewable energy usage. We want to remain close partners and seek closer cooperation with Germany in this field,” the Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister said.
For four consecutive years renewable energy conferences are organised by the following non-governmental organisations: the Lithuanian-German Forum, the International Birutė Galdikas ecology charity and support foundation, and the German association of the Hanseatic Parliament. The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the key supporters of the event.
Participants of the conference discuss a wide range of issues related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, aiming to offer an unbiased look at future prospects of renewable energy, examine untapped potential of expert training in Lithuania, energy efficiency programmes and projects, and their impact on the environment, and present good practices and innovations in Lithuania and Germany.
