“Lithuania strongly supports Ukraine, its independence and territorial integrity. We will never recognise the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea. We support the ongoing reforms implemented by Ukraine. It is a decisive and essential step, thus we encourage the country to continue on this path”, said the Prime Minister by underlining the continuous and diverse support by Lithuania to the Ukraine’s military forces.
When discussing the development of bilateral relations the Prime Minister underlined the possibilities to increase the economic cooperation through the Klaipėda’s port and the active use of the Lithuanian tourism services; the opportunities of the Ukrainian students to study in the Lithuanian universities, where they could receive a highly-qualified education, were also discussed.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister thanked Lithuania not only for its direct support in the face of the Russian aggression but also for its active support within the European Union in the promotion of the international aid to Ukraine. According to Groysman, the continuation of the European integration is of upmost importance to Ukraine, therefore, the Lithuania’s support is highly appreciated.
