Zhang will visit the four countries at the invitation of Latvian Parliament Speaker Inara Murniece, Lithuanian Parliament Speaker Viktoras Pranckietis, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
Zhang’s official visit to Latvia will last from April 12 until April 14, the Saeima press service reported.
The Chinese official will meet Murniece and later they will sign a memorandum of understanding between both parliaments.
During his visit, Zhang is also scheduled to meet with Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis and Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis, Saeima secretary Andrejs Klementjevs, heads of parliament factions and the lawmakers group for cooperation with the Chinese parliament.
The Chinese speaker will visit the Latvian National Library and present several books in the Chinese language.
While in Russia, Zhang will attend the third meeting of the cooperation committee between the NPC and the Russian parliament, according to the NPC standing committee on Thursday.
