According to Minister Linkevičius, Lithuania's excellent transport network and infrastructure can well serve as a transit location for transportation of Chinese goods to other EU countries. The importance of promotion of the bilateral trade and acceleration of the procedures of issuance of export licenses for Lithuanian agricultural products to China was stressed during the meeting.
During the bilateral political consultations that were held the same day, Mr. Rolandas Kriščiūnas, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs have touched upon the issues of development of bilateral political and economic dialogue, as well as possibilities for closer cooperation in the fields of education and culture, and multilateral issues.
Political consultations with the representatives of China's Foreign Ministry have been held since 2002.
