Fondos also met with staff members of the Personnel, Finance and Budget, and Defence Policy and Planning Departments of the Ministry of National Defence to familiarise with personnel management, project management methods and examples at the Lithuanian national defence system, and shared experience.
Delegates from Moldovan defence institutions are visiting Lithuania as part of the EU project “Support to the Civil Service modernization in the Republic of Moldova in line with EU best practices“.
Defence cooperation between Lithuania and Moldova have been developing defence cooperation for over a decade, Lithuania assists Moldova in military training: funds studies of Moldovan officers at the Baltic Defence College, and junior staff officers and English languages courses at General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. Representatives of the Moldovan Armed Forces take part in international instructor courses held at Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, and different courses for military medics delivered by MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service.
Moldovan delegation headed by Defence Minister Anatolie Salaru visited Lithuania on 20-22 April 2016, then bilateral cooperation and security challenges and threats in Eastern Europe were discussed.
