Upon arrival at Vilnius International Airport, Uspaskich was greeted by a large crowd of supporters, showering him with flowers and greetings on his birthday.

Uspaskich flew to Russia shortly after a Vilnius court found him guilty of book-keeping fraud on 12 July 2013.

The court ruled that the bail of 500,000 litas (EUR 145,000) would remain in effect. His freedom of movement was not restricted.

MP Uspaskich was found guilty of book-keeping fraud and sentenced to four years in prison. MP Vitalija Vonzutaite was sentenced to a three-year prison term, and the party's current leader, Parliamentary Vice-Speaker Vytautas Gapsys, received a fine of 35,000 litas.
