Incoming Defence Attaché Col O. Koberskyi has been with the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 1993. Prior to the recent appointment the officer worked at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. Col O. Koberskyi graduated from the National Defence Academy of Ukraine and served across different units of the Ukrainian Air Force.
Outgoing Defence Attaché of Ukraine Captain (Navy) D. Donskoi was accredited in 2011 and based in Vilnius. Marking the end of term in the position and in recognition of contribution to strengthening defence cooperation of Lithuania and Ukraine Vice Minister Marijus Velička presented to Capt (N) D. Donskoi the National Defence System Medal of Merit.
The changeover of Defence Attachés ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Lithuania, HE Volodymyr Yatsenkivskyi.

Lithuania supports the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine and its European and Euro-Atlantic integration aspirations. Lithuania’s cooperation with Ukraine has been one of the key foreign policy priorities for a long time.
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression in Ukraine Lithuania actively provides assistance to Ukraine in all forms, including military assistance, possible. Lithuania donated elements of weaponry and ammunition to Ukraine and provides medical and post-treatment care for injured Ukrainian soldiers in Lithuania. Together with other allies lIThuania assists Ukraine in its reform and training of national armed forces.
