The Bratislava summit will be held on September 16 to reflect on the future of the European Union after the Brexit vote in June, when the British people decided to leave the EU. European leaders will focus on the lessons to be learned and on the changes to be introduced for a better representation of the interests of all EU citizens.
According to the President, Europe is facing a number of major challenges: migration, terrorism and security threats. People’s trust in the European Union has been damaged. It is therefore necessary to take every possible action to resolve the problems of well-being and security that are greatly relevant to all.
On Sunday, September 11, President Dalia Grybauskaitė will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin to exchange views on the upcoming Bratislava summit.
