At the reception, the Lithuanian President held talks with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Belgian royal couple and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, the heir to the Danish throne, Frederik, and the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Margaret Chan. Dalia Grybauskaitė discussed European issues with President Francois Hollande of France, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, President Andrej Kiska of Slovakia, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and President Giorgi Margvelashvili of Georgia.
After the official reception the President of Lithuania went to watch Rio Olympics opening ceremony.
During her visit to the Olympic Games, the President will meet with Lithuanian athletes in the Olympic Village and watch a swimming competition and a basketball match between Lithuanian and Brazilian teams.
