A speech by the head of the presiding state at a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg marks an official start of the presidency.
According to the President, in order to accelerate the adoption of decisions important for the well-being of European citizens it is crucial to ensure smooth cooperation between Lithuania as EU Presidency, the European Parliament and other EU institutions.
During her visit in Strasbourg, President Dalia Grybauskaitė together with European Parliament President Martin Schulz will also take part in a press conference to answer questions from European journalists.
