"I am happy that we have a small Lithuanian island in Hong Kong: a young and enterprising Lithuanian community. I would like to thank you for promoting Lithuania, our business cooperation with Hong Kong, as well as attracting investments and investing in our country", said the Head of the Government, who invited local businesses to invest in our country.
The Prime Minister thanked President of the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce, Raj Sital Motwani, who is also the Honorary Consul of Lithuania, for his contribution to strengthening Lithuania-Hong Kong business cooperation.
Since its establishment in 2014, the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has acted as an information and knowledge centre, which provides services to Lithuanian investors interested in Hong Kong and South China markets, as well as Hong Kong and foreign companies wishing to trade and invest in Lithuania. The Chamber of Commerce helps organizing visits of Lithuanian business delegations to Hong Kong, meetings with potential partners and obtaining information from the local authorities.
The Prime Minister briefly introduced the objectives of his visit and the schedule of the meetings, including with China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang, at whose invitation the Prime Minister will participate at an annual conference Boao Asia Forum, intended to promote economic cooperation between Asia and other countries of the world.
Prime Minister will meet tomorrow with the Head of Trade and Economic Development Secretary of China's Special Administrative Region, visit one of the world's major financial centres – Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The Head of Government also intends to meet with one of China's largest industrial corporations China Merchants Group.
