The Baltic Defence Ministers, or the Baltic Defence Committee, will discuss security situation in the region, preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw, presence of allied forces in the Baltic region, and other security and defence issues.
After the meeting the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Defence Ministers will sign a joint communique on further cooperation and common position of the countries regarding in the most important areas of security and defence.
Further on, the Baltic Defence Committee will depart for Ukraine to meet with Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army Stepan Poltorak. The four Ministers will discuss the possibilities of rendering assistance to Ukraine in its effort of develop ints armed forces and implement the security sectors reform.
On December 15 in Lvov Minister of National Defence J.Olekas will meet with the Lithuanian military instructors deployed to the multinational United States-led training and equipping programme for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and training regular Ukraine's troops alongside allies since November.
The Baltic Defence Committee meets annually twice per year.
