After fifteen minutes of the game the player re-entered the score sheet. Then, Robert Lewandowski managed to increase the lead by two goals of his own, making it his 28th and 29th goal in his 70th appearance in the national team. It was also his 10th appearance in these qualifiers, making him the most valuable player of these series.
Arkadiusz Milik managed to hit the net twice after the break, Jakub Blaszczykowski scored a penalty, and Bartosz Kapustka scored the eighth goal in his debut in the national team.
The Polish team, with 17 points, are ranking second in the Group D, two points behind Germany, who defeated Scotland 3:2 in Glasgow on Monday. In the next round of group's qualifying matches Poles will face Scots, whereas Ireland will take on Germany.
Last Saturday, the Lithuanians almost lost their chance to advance from Group E, when they lost 0:1 to Estonia in Tallinn. They surpass only San Marino in rankings, which makes it their weakest performance in the history of qualifying for the European Championships.
