Seven-time champion of the F-1 is currently being treated in hospital in Grenoble, France. Stimulation of an artificial coma may result in a "continuous vegetative state."
'Is it quite risky to awaken the patient from the state of artificial coma,' said Professor H. Moeck. 'M. Schumacher can fall into in a continuous vegetative state.' 'When waken from artificial sleep, a patient is often not be able to understand who he is and where he is,' - says H. Moeck.
45 - year old M. Schumacher was seriously hurt in his head on 29th December while skiing in French Alps.
It may take several years for Schumacher to recover. The family of the pilot was informed, that the most difficult stage of the treatment is still to come.
